Julie, no real question for you - simply gobsmacked by your poems - always have been. But I do want to tell you that the 'Mermaid Story' is one of my all-time favourites - reading it is like reading my life. And it is the poem I aspire to write one day - it is the paradigm of the poem I dream might issue from my being one day! Part of me wishes you hadn't written it so it could still be written; another part is profoundly glad you wrote it so I can see what is possible to be written, to be uttered - and also how it might be done.
Also, I love what you say about the Gospel of Thomas. How true that is!
Anyway - I needed to take this opportunity to thank you for demonstrating over and over again the possibilities of form. You are an inspiration.
