Russia’s muse restrained, Rand shrugged

that fed her streams of US wealth
for writing what appeals to youth,
so unaware of their mortality,
dazed by hormones, seeking identity,
routinely resisting authority
restricting them in adolescence
(remember rebels Dean and Brando?),
a phase of passing callowness
that’s feckless cruelty when their older
selves, like Donny Trump and Ryan,
propagate her selfish anthem.
