I found a used book store going out of business, and got the following for 10 bucks each:

T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats (hardcover 1st ed)

R.P. Lister's The Idle Demon (hardcover 1st ed.)

I just got me a copy (for a song) of a special hard-to-get 1950s edition of Dante's lyrics.

And then I got me an illustrated edition of Stephen Foster's songs instead of a copy of a book I'd actually ordered. The online used book store mixed the order up but it turns out I like the Foster better anyway and I ended up getting it for free.

Both of 'em look pretty nifty.

Hi Michael,

If you haven't seen it, you might be interested in the "Mystery. R. P. Lister" thread from a few weeks back on GT:

Interesting thread, with a dramatic ending!

Oh yes, I saw it. It's the main reason I posted.

And today I picked up "Longing for Laura", by A.M.Juster, First Edition -- with lovely wood engravings by Frank C. Eckmair ...
Perfect condition!
