"Leaving Camustianavaig"--Book by John Beaton
Thanks to Alex, I'm delighted to announce that Word Galaxy Press has published my first book of poetry. It's called "Leaving Camustianavaig", a village on the Isle of Skye where my father grew up and where I've spent a lot of time. It's in pre-release until April 23, but if you order direct from Word Galaxy Press (as opposed to Amazon or similar outlets) it'll ship immediately.

Regards to all and thanks to those who joined the reading the Saturday before last.
John

Hi John,
Congratulations, this is wonderful news!
I've just tried umpteen times to pre-order a copy of your book, but wordgalaxy kept saying "your postal code is incomplete". I've created an account, but just went round and round and round in a loop, trying to give them the details they're asking for... aaarrgghh!!!!!
I'll keep trying...
Jayne
PS. I would have joined the reading, but our different time zones make it very difficult!

Hi, Jayne. Thanks.
If you order from Word Galaxy Press (as opposed to Amazon or other outlets) it ships immediately.
I tried to enter ordering data with a UK address and got through the process successfully. You need to make sure you set the country to United Kingdom.
The reading was pre-recorded and can be viewed here:

Good to hear from you,
John

Happy Birthday, John. Hope you're having a good day.
I've just tried again with Word Galaxy - and failed! Your book is still there in my ''cart'', I go to checkout, my credit card details are all there, plus my complete address (yes, including United Kingdom) and it will not finish the process! It just keeps coming up with:
Your postal code is incomplete.
It's not, though. I don't know how to get past this...
(Maybe a Spherean friend can send me a copy and I'll reimburse them through Paypal?)

On it, Jayne. I'll just wait for confirmation by email that nobody has beaten me to this by PM.

Hi, Jayne -- Sorry to hear that there's some conspiracy by the payment processors to mess things up for our overseas folk!
OK, try this direct link for ordering John's book that goes straight to a different payment processor ... which should work: here.
Cheers,
...Alex

Yet another update that there's now a Paypal option at the press's book page here. So, that should make for even less ordering frustration for everyone, especially those across the pond. Cheers--Alex

Thank you very much, Alex, but I've already struck up a deal with Max, who's posting a copy of John's book to me along with some others he was sending to me anyway.
