My new Book: Awake In Sand
"All of these poems were written in one of life’s hinge-moments, when change overwhelms certainty. Some are poems of surrender, some of resistance; some are curses, and some are blessings. The poems begin in the trauma of a present moment, but they soon dive deep into days past, inhabiting abandoned houses, gazing through vanished windows, holding orphaned objects. And although they are among the most autobiographical this poet has ever written, they’re also explicitly self-effacing. Let’s be honest, worlds disappear—outer worlds collapse, inner worlds dissolve, we are future dust and silence. This is an hourglass of a book, then—a book of dwindling echoes. Its true author is Time—and its nominal author, R. Nemo Hill, is but Time’s hard-working scribe, burning his ever-dwindling supply of midnight oil."
If anyone would like a signed copy, private message me and I will send you a copy for $25 plus $5 shipping.
The book is also available here from Dos Madres Press.
Elizabeth & Robert Murphy have created a beautiful volume.
I am happy.
Nemo

Absolutely wonderful news, Nemo! Huge congrats, of course I’m excited to read it. Are you having any sort of book launch btw? Dos Madres does fantastic work.

Nemo, please put me down on the list of orders to be filled when sanctions are lifted. Congratulations!

Congrats Nemo! Great title, and I love the cover. I don't suppose that's a picture of you?

I, too, can't wait to hold it!
And the cover is one of the most sublime photographs I've ever seen. This is a book I'm not going to slide into a shelf, but have the cover facing the room so I can look at it!
Congrats, Nemo!!!!

Thanks, Siham, Rick, Carl, Mark, Matt, & Cally.
The photo is of my father as a child.
It was lifted from an old family photo album.
Just a note: Dos Madres (like many other independent publishers) is greatly affected by the demise of the small press distribution service. So I believe, at least for the time being, that the book will not be available on Amazon until things get sorted out. Get it here, or directly from them.
Launch details are still in the planning stage.

My copy arrived today. I've only had a chance to dip in and out, but it's already clear that the book is a wonder - a sprawling portrait of a life.
