Yes, it's a marvellous truth poem, brilliantly written -- so glad you wrote it, Aaron! And I hope it reaches a multitude of readers . . .

Aaron, this is powerful and brilliant! (Oh that I had more time to spend here!) I got it in my inbox and it changed entirely my feeling about today. One of the best ever, seriously. So happy to see it in a venue like this; this is a poem editors dream of. It's what we wanted and needed to see, somehow, and here it is, amazing.
Congrats,
Siham

Thank you all so much. I had been trying (and failing) all year to capture the Zeitgeist and I think I may have gotten a bit of it in "MMXVII."

I'm a little confused. Is Poets Respond by invitation, or is it open submission?
Overview
Rattle publishes unsolicited poetry and translations of poetry.
Submissions are open year-round, always welcomed, and always free. Despite their growing prevalence in the literary community, we do not believe in submission fees and never will.
Rattle does not accept work that has been previously published, in print or online (we do consider self-publishing to blogs, message boards, or Facebook as publication if it can be viewed publicly without login).

Hello, Sam,
Poets Respond is open submission. It was the quickest acceptance I have ever gotten. I submitted the poem at 10:00am last Thursday and received the acceptance from the editor at 10:15am. As the poem was to go live Sunday morning, I was asked to record the voice track right away.
This quick acceptance makes up somewhat for all those times I waited six months or more for a response from a journal. Besides, Rattle pays, and I need the money bad.
I encourage you to submit.

I never have because I usually workshop new poems here. This is not much of an incentive to post poems on Met or DE.

Good, I'm glad to see you got some kudos, Aaron. I meant to say something the day it appeared, and got side-tracked. But I admired it when it was here and I liked it even better when it appeared in my inbox.
PS: Sam, Rattle is free to submit to, and they pay. And I can attest that Tim Green writes a very kind rejection letter.
