Default Loss of Eratosphere

Eratosphere was lost for a few hours though it is back now. Can anyone (Alex?) tell us where it went and why it went and when it will occur again?

I'm sorry.

I took it for a while last night because I couldn't sleep and didn't want to take pills.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

I had no problems, John. As a matter of fact, there was a space of a few hours where it was clearer and brighter than ever before, the letters leaped off the screen, and the political discussions, in particular, were amazingly pointed and accurate. Then that magic time passed, and we went back to same old same old.

John,
I'm sorry I didn't respond to your early PM about this, but I've been out all day.

When Eratosphere goes off line, it's because despicable hackers are at work, attempting to destroy what Alex created, and he has to work all day sometimes, in order to restore the protection of the site from such attacks. He can never know when it will occur again.

This is why, thanks to Michael's timely reminder, we can all help Alex by chipping in with some money so that he can keep the Sphere alive and well, for the benefit of us all. (Anyone who hasn't contributed so far, may I implore you to do so, please? Every little bit helps.)

Jayne
