I spent the last dozen years as "minutes secretary" of the Westside and Forgeside Tenants and Residents' Association. I didn't have the necessary familiarity with the politics of the area to undertake the responsibilities of Secretary or the required authority to hold the office of Chair but I sat between them and wrote it all down. All of it. And reading through those minutes now, I realise that I have the living innards of a cross between a soap opera and a sitcom. And that I will never, ever capitalise on that. After all, I have no authority so to do.
