Permit me a victory lap
What can I say? I f**king called it. (It’s probably not coincidental that this poem was published outside the U.S.)
“... Coffee’s gone lukewarm,
the trail’s gone cold. The woman on TV
hasn’t realized it yet. Her show
is sub-LeCarré trash, the waking dream
of self-styled cells in Williamsburg, Crown Heights,
Bushwick, even Windsor Terrace now.”

Can someone help me out? (an American probably). What did Quincy predict in June of last year when this poem was published and what is so provocative about it that would make it unlikely to be published in the US? I'm not being facetious, I quite like it and so want to understand it. It seems in part to be a satire of how a pathetic neoliberal-hipster version of an American socialist revolution might look, but a lot of details elude me like what the show on TV is (Fox News?) and how that relates to something that has happened to lots of Brooklyn neighbourhoods. Is it about the Mueller report?
Anyway. Congrats on its publication last year Quincy and on f**king calling it (whatever it is).

Nothing had changed, nothing has changed, nothing will change. Talk and talks will go on.

Mark, I forgot you're a Brit. You probably don't even have a bracket.

Congrats Quincy,
Like Mark, I'd welcome some clues, or even a straightforward explanation, as to what this is about.

Mark - what is this "Mr. Cantor" shit? Is it in response to my advancing age, attitude, pomposity or (gulp) all of the above?

(Now I really am baffled!)
Time for bed...
Quincy, when you've got your breath back from your victory lap, put us out of our misery would you?
Michael - I'm not sure. It just felt like a 'Mr Cantor' moment. And all of the above too, obviously. Endearing qualities all.

It's a critique of the self-styled "Resistance" to Trump that's largely neo-liberal rubbish (to clue you in, Mark ). I suspect this comes in the wake of the Mueller report, which many in "The Resistance" thought would somehow bring down Trump.
