What a very nice review! The quotes do seem to do a good job of giving at least this reader a sense of the book as well.

Cheers,
John

Thanks for this. Lately, it seems I have been reading a slew of "phoned-in" book reviews -- clever, condescending back-door slams, damning with faint praise, but all leaving the general impression that the reviewer really did not give the book more than a cursory pass.

I feel like this writer actually read Maryann's book.

Thanks, friends. I'm always grateful for a review, and especially grateful for this one: a close reading from an informed and sympathetic reader who writes well. And it's a nice venue!
