Default LUPO 42- Junier And Lunier Not Punier

Only three weeks to midsummer and here comes the June issue of Lighten Up On Line, with Spherians well to the fore as ever, namely Gail White, Rob Stuart, Ed Shacklee, Martin Parker, Chris O’Carroll, Robin Helweg-Larsen, Max Goodman, Peter Goulding, Martin Elster, Maryann Corbett, Jerome Betts, Melissa Balmain and Brian Allgar, plus new members Damian Balassone and David Alpaugh.

Among the topics they have afforded the lightening and brightening treatment are acne, the afterlife, cargo pants, Herrick, naked love rats (er, make that mole rats) nude gunmen, parallel universes, pigeons, punctuation, scabs, spiders, tennis dresses, and toast racks.

Enough to give the over-solemn the willies, which is exactly what our Montaigne-quoting Max Goodman does. What would LUPO do without its Spherical sparklers?

Also sunnier and punnier and funnier...

Kudos, Jerome, on another excellent issue! As always, it's an honor to appear alongside so many of my favorite light poets.

Thanks Melissa, and also for your sprightly reply to the racy reverend. It was good to see some names from earlier LUPO days appearing.

This gives me the opportunity to say that the Next and Previous navigation buttons in this issue have reversed their functions, probably because of the editor's ham-fisted handling of the easily-provoked posting mechanism.

Apologies if any Spherean has suffered an Alice Through The Looking Glass moment as a result, but the apparently irreversible switch should be pro hac vice only.
