I'm pretty sure it must have been a coincidence, Brian. Whenever I've won, either Oldie or Speccie, my entries have been posted here. But . . .

If Alex can do us another sub-forum, as per my request, everyone's work will be under lock and key, away from prying eyes.

Hey, then we'll all win!!! No, wait a minute . . . let me think about that [female/blonde] logic some more . . .

I like Blonde Jokes (in rhyme) and have written some myself. Very un-PC of me, but I'm one of those people who isn't easily offended.

Well, now you need to do a control test, Brian. Post a couple and see if your luck holds!

And I support the plan to go underground, by the way.

Default possible angle

I notice in the dictionary that the word sea comes to us from the Dutch word zee, as in Zuiderzee (actually a bay). This suggests a twist to me, "To see the sea from A to zee." Maybe?

David,

Welcome to Eratosphere, but the deadline for this particular competition was over a month ago, so your suggestion is somewhat redundant!

We have now moved The Oldie magazine's monthly competition thread to Deep Drills, which you won't have access to for a while, sorry, as a new member. When you've made the required number of posts you can PM me for the Deep Drills password if you wish to find details of this and other UK competitions.

Jayne

Bob,
I've taken out the link to The Oldie Deep Drills section. The whole point of it is that it is password protected so that members only can access that board!
Sphereans who are eligible (not new members without full posting privileges) can PM me for the password.

Jayne
