In this year that will mark the twentieth anniversary of Michael’s death, I wanted to let you know about the things we are doing this year to commemorate him

We are currently raising money in his honour to send a new poet on the Arvon two-year Advanced Poetry course. Michael used to teach regularly for this organisation, and also for university extension classes in London - many of his former students have gone on to become renowned writers themselves. I have also launched a blog with moving contributions by his former students recollecting the impact of his classes.

I do. I contributed. Perhaps it's the unfamiliarity of the Arvon foundation that made the project seem a bit distant for many of the readers here.
