Entirely Selfish Question
Hello collective poetry brain!
Does anyone know if the last print edition of 'Measure' ever came out? I think it was supposed to be the Summer '18 issue. I had a poem ('Present') accepted for it, but since then...silence. And it has now moved online.
I would let it go, but it would have been my only time in actual print. And I can't...seem to...let it...go.
Anyone else?
Cheers

Questions are by definition selfish, yes? (I’m asking for a friend)
I hope you get to the bottom of it. Vanishing acts of every kind are very disconcerting. I wish I could remember it (the poem) though the title sounds familiar.

Since the most recent, second-to-last issue of Measure didn't come out until November 2018 according to what records I have, the nominal date "Summer 2018" can't possibly mean anything. That's especially true since the issues of Measure have often been later than their nominal dates.
So I'm not expecting that last issue until this spring at the earliest, though I'm guessing here and have no definitive information.

Thanks Maryann,
I didn't realise there was one more still to come. There's hope yet!

Hey Mark, I've never submitted to Measure (surprise surprise), but journals can take an exceptionally long time to get back to you after acceptance. If there are any adjustments or grammatical issues etc that need to be ok-ed, and you respond, and then there's no response from them, I make sure they've received my email. (I have been in a situation where they actually didn't receive my response.) Anyway, congratulations!

Mark, why don't you just email an editor? You can also ask at their Facebook page.

I've always balked at that, Roger. I suppose that's stupid, but at places with a certain reputation, like Measure, I feel funny about that. So, I guess, my advice is just to trust that the poem is still forthcoming. That's been my experience (as frustrating as that can be.)

Thanks James,
that's all good, calming advice. And thanks for the congrats!
Roger - Like James said, really. I thought that the recent edition might have been last ever, but wasn't sure, so I didn't want to email saying 'hey! where's my poem?' Pathetic I know. I didn't realise it was the penultimate one. So I thought I'd ask the hive-mind instead.
Cheers folks!
Edit: and thanks Jim! I'll PM it you

I respectfully disagree with James. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking Measure if the poem that they already accepted is going to be published. That wouldn't be a nagging sort of inquiry in the least, and there's absolutely no reason to feel funny about it.
(In fact, I just remembered that I inquired about my one poem in Measure since the issue was extremely late. I simply asked them if I had somehow missed the issue or if it was still upcoming. I asked politely, they responded politely).

Oh, totally Roger! I've no doubt you're right, so it isn't really a matter of agreement/disagreement. I should. I just need to grow a pair of poetry balls (I can't speak for James)
And on that image, I thank you all.
