hello all...I am wondering if 'tether' is appropriate in the following sentence: "I will bind and pull and TETHER all the milkweed leaves together....." Any ideas..?

Mother, tether is a verb as well as a noun, no apostrophe, don't know what word you might have in mind that has a dropped first syllable. Its use in your sentence is redundant, since tether and bind mean about the same thing, except that I think of tethering a horse or something that might try to get away, think bind works better for milkweed. By the way, there is an online dictionary at http://www.webster.com .

Hi Mother:

Solan is right about rhymezone. I should write PR for them since I have sent a gazillion people to that site.

You may also find this site useful. It is the single best comprehensive reference site I have found so far on the web--www.refdesk.com.

Hope that helps.
