Aaron,

Sing the Reds fight song and we'll buy it. You know the one that starts "L-I-V-E-R-P…"

'skint' is an adjective, not a noun, but good try.

I think we should throw all the words there've ever been in a bag and let the poets take them out at all, like Scrabble tiles.

Let queue snuggle with lutulent, jettatore sidle up with inquilinate. Let people gymnologize with gobemouches as much as one pleases. Fuck registers.

(I'm being 100% serious in this moment.)

The only reason to avoid "queue" if you're an American is that it will, necessarily, feel rhyme driven to that ear and it isn't comic in any way to compensate.

When I was on hold today (in America), a robot voice informed me that I was "third in the queue." That word is ours now, too, you limey #!#%#s!

You can have any of our words, Aaron, as far as I'm concerned; at least you can't misspell queue!

We've adopted some of yours too: lots of people now say ''cookies'' instead of biscuits, for instance...

...but I maintain that a Brit will never, ever use the word ''faucet''.

Yeah, "tap" has more rhyming possibilities.

"faucet" only has "cosset" and, well, "posset." I suppose one could go for "toss it" as well.

I've rhymed it with "boss it" in a poem.

It doesn't even get off the starting blocks here, guys!

We pronounce ''faucet'' as force-it, which doesn't rhyme with anything having an ''oss'' sound.

Oh, ''Tap'' is so much easier all round

Jayne
