Four Rilke Translations at Peacock Journal
Two of the translations published were workshopped here, and two were not.

Susan,
Congratulations on these wonderful translations. I especially like The Panther. Moreover, your Statement of Beauty touched me deeply.

Thanks, everyone. I have found Eratosphere to be very helpful in my work on these translations, and supportive of the effort. I am glad that some of you are finding the translations and the commentary on beauty to be enjoyable. Vera, I am planning to submit some translations to Better Than Starbucks once I workshop a few more of them. I have completed quite a few more of them than I have been able to workshop so far, at the rate of one per week.

Well done Susan, these are all lovely. Beautiful even (why not?). I always enjoy reading your translation threads, I just never feel qualified to contribute.

As a reader who must find Rilke's genius through the lens of translation, your Rilke translations are a thing of crystalline beauty.
I've read those you've posted here on the Sphere and they are superb. I used to think that to translate a poet's words was an impossibility. But you've made me a believer.
And I love your statement on beauty. (The Peacock Journal is devoted to it? How good that is!)
