Yeah, you guys are right. Fact is, that if somebody who knew their way around the Dark World submitted this to a properly selected group of journals, it wouldn't surprise me if somebody accepted the thing. And if a Sphere member with a decent reputation posted it on metrical you might get (depending on whether or not some sorehead quickly labelled it as nonsense before the strokers could react) any number of people praising a certain line or commenting that it reminded them of (pick a poet), before gently, ever so gently, indicating that they were having trouble following the entirety of it.

Here we have a number of excellent poets, attempting to emulate an Artificial Intelligence programme that writes poor poetry.
Jeez, guys, you really find this a fun thing to do?? Well, some of you must do, as you're on Round 2.
At first I didn't ''get'' the idea at all, and now that I've seen your composite "poem" I just can't believe you're wasting your time on this pointless exercise. Sorry, Andrew. Sorry, all you contributors. I just had to stick my neck out and say what I'm sure others are thinking.

Hi Jayne,
No need for apologies. Some people like different things. I like the game of this because it draws surprising connections, and I find it more personally worthwhile than the bulk of the stuff I read on D&A (non-contest edition). But so much of poetry is taste, you know?
I will pretend your modifier "excellent" extends beyond Walter, Ann, and Mark to include me, and say I'm quite thankful.

Aaron,
What is there to be angry about?
Andrew's taken my comments in the spirit in which they were given! (Thank you, Andrew, and yes, you're included in my list )
"Exquisite Corpse" appeals to you, and others; it doesn't appeal to me and I said so.
I just expressed my opinion...and even apologised for it. I can't see that there's anything for you to be angry about!
