End of year pruning on 30th December
Hello everyone,
Pruning of old threads takes place around the end of the year, and again in June, to prevent the site becoming too clogged up with data. It applies only to these boards:
Metrical, The Deep End, Non-Metrical, Fiction and Translation.
Threads which haven't been posted on for at least 30 days (60 in the case of the Translation board) will disappear, so if you wish to preserve any of them please save them in a file somewhere, or print them out, as the threads are not retrievable once they have been pruned.
The pruning won't take place for at least a week from the date of this announcement, to give you all time to get around to keeping the stuff you want.
This year I plan to do it on Thursday 30th December ...but I'll give you a reminder a day or two ahead.
Please PM me if you have any queries.
Thanks, and all the best,
Jayne

Hello All,
I hope everyone had a good Christmas, ...whether you celebrate it or tolerate it.
This is to remind you that I'll be pruning the boards on Thursday, so don't forget to save the threads you wish to keep (see above post).
Cheers,
Jayne

Pruning
Hi Jayne
I just saw this - if it's still up there I would like to save my one comment and the phone that I commented on -- It was by Julie Steiner but I dont think it's the one that's currently up.
If it is too late, could you maybe reply with instructions as to how to save threads, etc.?
Thanks so much, in any event,
Robert (Bob) Luis Rodriguez

Jayne, please give Robert credit for a detailed, thoughtful critique of my now-pruned poem, toward his required 15. Thanks! --Julie

Hi Bob,
Welcome to Eratosphere!
Apologies for my late response to your post (and to yours, Julie), but we're engaged in some building work at home... again... and it's chaotic, to put it mildly, so I haven't been online much over the holidays.
Firstly, your post, even though it's been pruned, will still count towards your required "probationary" 15 critiques, don't worry. Regarding the saving of threads: You can print them out, of course, but a better option is to cut and paste them into Word documents, for electronic retrieval later. (There are probably other ways, but that's what I do.)
All the best,
Jayne

I use Evernote. With Evernote, I can instantly move an exact copy of any web page into my personal files, including Eratosphere threads.
