A poet published a collection on the topic of missing and murdered indigenous women, an issue which is gaining popularity and movement. In it was a poem about one murdered Indian woman, in particular. The victim's Inuk sister, also herself a writer and Indian activist, did not like the poem -- (the poem's imagery upset her) -- and complained that the poet had not asked permission to write about the incident.
Book*hug Publishing has not only pulled the book completely, but also has removed the poet from its website, and announced it will donate all profits from the book to a fund which was set up for the slain Indian woman.
