Hi everyone,
We’re accepting submissions for Light’s first online issues—so please send funny poems our way! We will consider both new work and previously-published work that (a) hasn't been online before, (b) has never appeared in Light, and (c) was printed at least two years ago. It’s fine if it’s been workshopped on Eratosphere, of course.
Online submissions are vastly preferred; here's the link (complete with guidelines):
https://lightpoetrymagazine.submittable.com For those who need to submit by snail mail, we should have a working PO box in Rochester, NY within a few weeks—as soon as we're officially approved to "do business" here. (We have closed one Chicago box and are phasing out the other.)
We aim to have our inaugural issue up and running in late spring or early summer, along with Light’s new website, which is coming along splendidly. (Light’s original website is still up and running, by the way:
http://www.lightquarterly.org/index.html. The submissions guidelines are there too, as well as a video of last spring’s tribute to our beloved founding editor, John Mella.)
If you have questions, feel free to ask them here or send a message to
lightpoetrymagazine@gmail.com.
One more excellent bit of news: Gail White will be our first featured poet!
Cheers,
Melissa
