Default Review of "Sappho: Stung with Love"

"Aaron Poochigian’s 2009 translation “Stung with Love: Poems and Fragments” comes the closest of any translation I have ever read to capturing what must have been the experience of hearing Sappho perform."

I posted this review on Twitter if anyone wants to spread the word. Too many people think Anne Carson is the translator to read.

Yeah! I want to marry the author of this comparison.

Just ordered it Aaron - on the basis of the review's comparison of four different translations of the same segment. Yours is in a different class - it just glows.

Thank you, Michael. The Sappho is pretty sexy--don't let your wife know you are reading it.

Anne Carson is just a trot (with interesting notes). Jim Powell is good, but Aaron is better. We should all be so lucky to get such reviews! I endorse the endorsement.
