A great thing about The Awl is the short gap between acceptance and publication. Which is why I was trawling The Awl and saw Andrew's poem there, two weeks before mine.

I remember this one so well from when it was workshopped here. You were 'Mary quite contrary' in insisting on keeping that first line and how right you were! I loved it then and I love it now.
