Thanks for the notice, Susan, and thanks all.

My New Year's resolution--and I quote Victor Frankenstein: Avoid Ambition.

Love the poem. Love the novel. Teach it every year.

Rick, your poetry is too good to listen to Victor. He's also, to put it as nicely as I can, a tool.

Thanks Andrew and Gail.

I consider Frankenstein to be the greatest novel in the English language, which supports my contention that subject matter is 90% of the sale. It might also have something to do with my being the only English major writing for a chemistry magazine when I am trying to write for real money....

The dedication to Roald Hoffmann, a Nobel laureate chemist, poet, and playwright, follows my landing an editorial from him commemorating the book for said chemistry magazine. Hoffmann has published six volumes of poetry and is co-author with Carl Djerassi, innovator of the birth control pill, of the play "Oxygen."

Rick! How did not see this – I hate to bounce up this one as it has been resting, but undeservedly, at least in my opinion. Wonderful, Rick, everything a poem should be. Thank you Mary for put this up. Bravo and Brava.

Thanks Rob!

I'm going to be chairing a panel on Frankenstein at Poetry by the Sea this year. On the panel are Wendy Sloan, Carolyn Raphael, and Michael Bergmann.
