I love that face in the ivy Padriga! I have a thing for faces, nice work!

Here's one for Carol's "Fear of Flying"

Fear of Flying

A sailor, when offered a trip
by air, was reported to quip,
"I can swim just a bit
but I can't fly a flit,
so I'm taking my chances by ship."

Carol

Pad, I love the texture you used on that moon. The whole image is nice - it looks like a cloisonne.

The moon in the original is gold leaf, the rest acrylic on paper. I did a whole series of Silent Women, all with gold leaf..eight paintings. I am amazed, pleased by how well they scan and print on a not very fancy ink jet printer for cards. I would love to see a thread discussing the ethics of computer generated prints...I am seeing lots of ink jet prints in galleries now on "archival" paper. Not certain about the archival properties of the inks, however. I don't mind selling them as cards...but feel a bit uneasy selling them them for over a $100 without, one, knowing they will last and two, not numbering them, limiting the edition like other fine printmakers do. Anyone have thoughts on that?

A sub-dye printer will give better control, and no dots - smoother transitions between colors, and lasting saturation. Most are expensive, but Alps has made several low-end models. I purchased an MD-1300 years ago for around $200. Something along those lines will set your mind at ease, and you'll appreciate the versatility.

BTW, my niece is an artist, and I've photographed several of her paintings and made prints, which she sells at art galleries. We've even modified them digitally to produce something more exciting from the originals. The above jpeg I posted is entirely computer generated using 3D modelling programs that allow me to sey-up a still life just as if I were I the studio.
