Default Apology

Dear Eratosphere,

I apologize for my occasional nastiness here over the last few years, both the general and the particular.

There is no excuse for my behavior. I will offer, not as excuse but as explanation, frustration, poverty and the social and political instability of the time.

Again, my apology,

Aaron Poochigian

Dear Aaron,
That is magnanimous of you, and I'd like to be first in saying thank you for posting this. Very often it's not an easy thing to say sorry.

Life is difficult in many ways for everyone in these crazy times, but some people manage to cope better than others - also, some folks are more forgiving than others!

We don't all see eye to eye here, just as close families don't always, either, but it's good if we can just be tolerant of one another's foibles, bad moods, fits of depression, ...or whatever else ails us.

You have friends here, and I sincerely hope that circumstances improve, as well as your general well-being.

All the best,
Jayne

Good for you, Aaron. I hope that as penance, from now on you will comment on at least one other person's poem, for every poem of your own that you post.

You have incomparable poetic instincts and insight. Think of the tremendous positive impact you could have, if you were to help others to develop and hone their unique qualities, too--as Alan Sullivan and Timothy Murphy and Rhina P. Espaillat and A.E. Stallings and other Eratosphereans here did for you. Time to join the ranks of mentors, Aaron.

Aaron,

It cheers me that a person whose writing I have always admire, from when I first encountered it in Tim Steele's workshop, to the postings I have had the pleasure to read here can make such a magnanimous amends. It's an example I'd like to follow and encourage others to do so as well. There is enough rancor in the world without poets – of all people – joining in.

One suggestion is that when you have a poem to post on a board you also commit some time to commenting on other poems posted on that board. Who knows? It may lead to your poem being commented on faster.

Thank you, everyone, for understanding.

Yes, when I post on the workshop boards, I will be sure to comment on the work of others.

Contritely,

Aaron

Awesome! Looking forward to your expert advice on why poems aren't working as well as they could.

Why do I suspect that this perfunctory thread has something to do with this one?
