My Aristophanes Up at Amazon
My thanks to all of you who helped me with this project on the translation board:
https://www.amazon.com/Aristophanes-.../dp/1631496506
UK Laureate Simon Armitage calls my translations “effortlessly readable and genuinely theatrical”.

Congratulations, Aaron!
From the description:
Quote:
His plays revealed to his contemporaries, and now teach us today, that when those in power act obscenely, patriotic obscenity is a fitting response.

Well, sometimes! Often, even. I'm still clinging to a few exceptions. But on the whole, yes, I can endorse that statement.

Mr A; Aristophanes is one of my favoritest Geeks, precisely because his sublime truths shed so much grace on modern follies - aargg!! (I don’t think he necessarily led to Socrates’ death). So many translations of him are on my shelves. I will likely get yours (if my ladywife lets me buy another!). Perhaps you might purchase a copy of my own up and coming book of stuff — when it materializes, I hope fairly soon!!— I’m trying to trap a publisher.
[Oh, and everyone, don’t forget to purcha$e (~20 USD) Michael Cantor’s Furusato. There’s a thread announcing it: do a search! I returned from Japan last year. He liked Japan, so did I.]
Back to Poochigian. I will somehow sneak a copy in and read those wonderful delightful plays again. Go Aristophanes! Go the Pooch. Steady on.

Aaron, my shelf space is so tight that I want it in paperback. Also paperbacks bend a little when they need to. Can you give any hope about when the paperback edition (I assume there will be one) can be gotten?

Thank you, Allen, for your interest. There will indeed be a paperback, and I think it won't come out until early 2022.

I relish the thought of seeing you fence with the other translators I have. Truly.
