With the new regime in place at Strokestown, I'd be hesitant to urge you to treat it as a mini-break and come over anyway, in case its a damp squib, although Anthony's will still be there! Looks like they're no longer offering each shortlistee the €400 reading fee as an incentive to come over. We'll see how this translates into attendance, what with 9 out of the 10 being based overseas!

Oh well, I'll have to content myself with cheering on Martin Parker to his overdue victory in the Humour competition. Though even he is hinting he may not attend.

In case you are ever over again, I would recommended Murphy's stout. Never had a bad pint. Also, as a stammerer, its easier to order than Beamish or Guinness!
