There's a review of my book "American Divine" by Maryann Corbett up at LARB (The LA Review of Books)! Check it out:

Congratulations! It's a lovely review.
The book deserves it, too. It's very cool, very powerful. I'm finding that I have to read it in tiny bits otherwise it's like being hit full-on with big, big emotions.
Proper emotions, though - not just clever words. That's rare, particularly now, when things can become detached to the power of 10.
I think (just subjective) that language can be too codified, lost some power, weak representations. The poetry in American Divine seems to reclaim it, in a sense.
And Congratulations again!

Thank you, Sarah-Jane, for reading the book so closely.
Ralph, thank you for getting a copy. Let me know what you think.
Best,
Aaron

Talk about a wonderful book! It was one of those manuscripts that just leaps out of the crowd. So delighted to follow the journey from entry to critical kudos!

It was a treat to review Aaron's book, and an additional treat to reread his other books to organize my mind for the review. Can't wait for the Baudelaire!

Excellent and informative review, Maryann. You've given both a good sampling of the poems and a helpful analysis of the themes and approaches.

A poetry review should be both informative and a pleasure to read, and this was. Nice work, Maryann, and congrats, Aaron.
Now, if only American Divine weren't out of stock. Is there anywhere besides Amazon to get it?
And it's not on Amazon Italia either. I've found this with other Wilbur Award publications: Amazon in Europe doesn't carry them. Evansville should do something about that.

Thank you so much, Ned and Maryann.
Andrew, DM me on Twitter, and I will email you an e-version of the book to tide you over. The release is slightly delayed but copies will be at Amazon next week.
