Beer & Light Verse
If you’re in the eastern Massachusetts/southern New Hampshire area next week, and you feel like celebrating the month with a reading devoted entirely to light verse, you might enjoy this event in Amesbury. Four featured readers -- Rhina Espaillat, Alfred Nicol, David Davis, and me -- and an open mic.
Let me stress the main point here: Rhina Espaillat is one of the featured readers. She is not to be missed.
Thursday, April 5, 7-9 p.m. at BareWolf Brewing, 12 Oakland St., Amesbury, MA.

What a wonderful evening that will be, Chris, and how I WISH I could be there!
I'm not familiar with the other two gents, but I'm a great admirer of you and Rhina. Have a fun time with all that light verse. (Can someone film the event and put it on YouTube??)

Living in Paris, Chris, I can't make it for the light verse reading. But could you send me the beer?

Yes, Brian, but he would have to use International Flat Rate Shipping.
Have a lovely event, Chris!

Somebody send Julie a beer quick. She's very dry.

Flat beer, Julie? Nah, I was hoping he could email to me in a form that I could then feed to a 3-d printer.

I think 3d beer, besides being inexpensive, would be old.

The reading was almost as much fun as this thread. Everybody knows about the warmth and humanity and graceful elegance of Rhina Espaillat’s verse. There’s also a formidable witty twinkle in those gentle eyes, and she’s not afraid to get a wee bit naughty. The crowd loved her, and was not entirely unresponsive to me and David Davis and Alfred Nicol as well. Alfred noted that a brewpub is the sort of poetry venue in which Marlowe and Shakespeare would feel right at home.
I can recommend BareWolf’s beer, which is sold for consumption on the premises and in “growlers,” big glass jugs to take home. As soon as Amazon buys up the business, those should be available for overnight delivery.

Perhaps I could get some via "streaming".
