Default Pulp Sonnets to be Published in September

I’m happy to say that Pulp Sonnets, my book of narrative sonnet sequences based on 20 years of research into popular fiction genres, Noir film, and comic books, is being published by Tupelo Press on September 1st, illustrated by Amin Mansouri. The book is designed almost like a graphic novel, and features extended sequences in the sci-fi, horror, action-adventure, alien invasion, superhero, spy fiction, and hard-boiled detective genres. (See attached covers below.)

For those who might be interested in using it in creative writing or literature courses, I’ve created a thorough teaching guide to accompany the book. It includes sample syllabi, discussions of each poem in the book, study questions, supplementary readings, research topics, and creative writing exercises.

In addition, it includes links to multimedia adaptations of the poems, from graphic novel to radio play to flash animation to text-and-image monotypes.

Shoot me a message if you are interested in adopting the book and I’ll get you the teaching guide.

Thanks!

Tony

A great idea for a book; I'm very much looking forward to it. I think I may get the teaching guide myself, and try some home schooling.

Best,

Ed

I'm definitely looking forward to this! I've greatly enjoyed the parts I've seen in Rattle and on the sphere.
