Default My Book Pulp Sonnets Forthcoming at Tupelo Press

I am happy to say the Tupelo Press has accepted my book of poems, Pulp Sonnets, for publication in 2015. It was a finalist for Tupelo's Dorsett Prize, 2014. This is a book I've been working on in various forms for twenty years, and it's based on classic pulp fiction, Gothic literature, B movies, and comic books, featuring extended sonnet sequences in popular genres such as sci fi, horror, action-adventure, and Cold War spy fiction. It has been illustrated by the terrific Iranian artist Amin Mansouri III, and with some luck the book will be accompanied by a CD containing various multimedia collaborations with Beau Blue (animation), Jennifer Sage Holmes (radio play), Dorothy Notrobot AKA Dorothy Tunnell (graphic novel), plus a reader's/teaching guide. A number of the poems have also been worked on here at the Eratosphere. Thanks, Tony

Congratulations, Tony! The Dorset must be one of the toughest, so congrats on that too. Your book sounds wonderful — and the other media sounds delightful too. I'm looking forward seeing this one in print.

Congrats, Tony! Great news--that award is pretty competitive. The book sounds really interesting, a wonderful combination of genres.

Keep us up to speed on readings--especially in LA, of course!
