John Whitworth Rocks First Things
Superb poem, "Going Out," by John Whitworth in First Things, linked from the Prufrock blog:
https://www.firstthings.com/article/2017/11/going-out
Congratulations, John, and we can only hope it's not too close to the truth, though no one could soon forget this:
"And God alone knows what it’s been about."

Excellent, John. I could really imagine this as a song lyric, as well. I'm thinking Elvis Costello could do a fine job with it.

"And God alone knows what it’s been about," is very good. The entire poem is a wizard show.

I love the way the last 2 lines simulate 'zooming out'. Lovely poem, John.

John, I haven't had access to a lot of your work here, and I'm only just getting familiar with it. This piece here is damn good. I'm glad I got to read it.
