On their cross-country tour in the camper truck, poet/publisher Karen Kelsay and her husband, Peter Davies, made a stopover in Kansas City, Missouri. I'm happy to have met them both in person.

By chance, they arrived on the weekend of the regularly-scheduled reading in the Loose Park Rose Garden, and both Karen and Peter helped fill the bill.

Karen read from her new collection. Peter read from Joy in the Morning, the recent collection from John Whitworth, delighting everyone with the poems and the English accent, too.

For once, Kansas City brought on some beautiful weather for the event.
