Wonderful video, Aaron!
Congratulations. You're a true scholar.
I love supporting my friends by buying their books, but this one is just a tad too specialized for me, I'm afraid, though I'm sure it will be well-received by classicists everywhere.

Thank you, Jayne.
Yes, it can be a hard sell, too, at $40.00/copy.

It's not as horribly expensive on Kindle. Anyway, in a fit of Sunday night book-buying excitement, I've pre-ordered it.
I only have the Beardsley illustrations of Lysistrata and not the full text, so it's probably about time I found out words to match the pictures.

Yesterday was the official release date of "Aristophanes: Four Plays." Thank you for helping to make it a #1 New Release at Amazon.
Best,
Aaron

It's very good.
I've only read the first play so far, and will certainly be missing many, many scholarly nuances in the particular type and perspective of the translation.
But its properly funny, readable, and I love, love some of the images; the flea with waxy feet like Persian slippers is stand-out, plus the fleeting absurdities. It's layered absurdity - the absurdity of the flea, of measuring the flea, of dipping a flea's feet in wax, and the flea wearing fancy embroidered shoes - and the great 'why' of the measuring in the first place. And then the whole thing moves on, so quickly that it's like a flea leap anyway.
It feels like a book you could share with friends as a book, rather than a 'trophy read'.

Thank you, Ralph.
Sarah-Jane, I'm glad you have enjoyed "Clouds." Just wait for "Birds." Its poetry is gorgeous.

It's an amazing achievement, Aaron. My congratulations for it. Do you know when it will be out in paperback? The price for me at the moment is a bit steep, and I'm not crazy about reading in Kindle format.

Thank you, Andrew. It should be out in paper early in 2022.
