I was excited to discover "Otoya" (https://duotrope.com/listing/22012) because certain poets I know will at last be able to publish in a venue other than "The Pennsylvania Review."

I confess that I am a bit obsessed with the thought of literary Trumpists.

I mean Hitler knew enough Latin to write: meum librum "Mein Kampf" vocabo

or, as "Otoya" puts it,

Wow, that's kind of a wild and crazy Donald Trump quote. It reminds me of Benjamin Franklin: "We must all stick together or we shall most assuredly hang separately."

For me the quote evokes the Reichswehreid: "I swear loyalty to the Reich's constitution. . ."

Yup, that sounds apt as well. And I would imagine that an eager staffer scripted this as just the right words for the Trump base to hear. Mostly though he reminds me of Mussolini, braggadocio, jutting chin and all.
