Default Randy Has Won Me Over

.
.

This morning, after months of being amused, I've become infatuated with Randy Rainbow. “Sometimes the cure for evil is ridicule” wrote a youtube follower in the comments under one of his satirical/parody videos of Trump. I think she’s right…

This one is pure parody genius:: https://youtu.be/WimbyL_25N
And another: https://youtu.be/2VBevEYELQ0

Here is an interview he did with a local TV news station: (I’ve seen him interviewed a few times and am impressed with his demeanor and description of his creative process which he outlines beautifully in this interview.)

And another: https://youtu.be/LQSlDHEWmG8

Randy Rainbow is the real thing in my book. What impresses me most is that he is a one-man-band. He is a multi-talented satirist for our times , and unless the gods of fame and misfortune gobble him up and spit him out, he is going to build an empire from his creative genius. Just you wait.

But my question is: Have others found satire/comedy to be helpful in this desert storm the world is enveloped in? (I know there are corners of the world where there is peace and calm — I live in one — but generally speaking things have really hit the fan.) And where do you go to get it?

(Hope you've had a laugh...)

I enjoyed the Bunker Song!

I’m pretty addicted to watching Sarah Cooper over and over. It’s compulsive. She’s magnificent.

“As long as war is regarded as wicked, it will always have its fascination. When it is looked upon as vulgar, it will cease to be popular.”
--Oscar Wilde

Racism, sexism, corruption, and all the other flavors of wickedness in the Trumpism punchbowl, are not only evil, but also spectacularly vulgar, foolish, dorky, cartoonish, laughable. Comedy is not the one cure for everything, but political satire can be a wonderful tool for highlighting dorkiness and provoking laughter that undercuts the power of evil.

I see a Mark Twain Prize in Rainbow's future. Cooper's ridicule via mime and lip-synching is less elaborately produced but also a comedy highlight these days. And editorial cartoonists all around the world are doing a great job of holding the mirror up to Trump's many failings and failures.

I love Sarah Cooper, but she's not the only one doing the lip sync thing with Trump. Here are a few others I like:
