Default Winter/Spring Light is live

Hi all,

Today's newsletter announcement is copied below. Congrats to the many, many Sphereans represented, and huge thanks (as always) for making Light shine.

Melissa & co.

Dear Friends of Light:

Sick of the Polar Vortex blahs,
your landscape turning dull and duller?
Just open Light and you're in Oz—
no snow, and everything in color...

... from golden rhymes to evergreen wit to red-hot double entendres. Yep, our Winter/Spring 2019 issue is live at https://lightpoetrymagazine.com/!

Among the treats in store:

*Featured poet Barbara Loots and an appreciation of her verse by Gail White.
*Work by 42 other poets, including dozens of Light veterans and newcomers Carrie L. Clickard, Paula Mahon d'Entremont, Paul Fraleigh, and Paul Jones (welcome!).
*News on light-verse events and contests, and achievements by Light contributors.
*Barbara Egel-eyed book reviews.
*A cover photo by Karen C. Craft that will definitely make you feel better about the snowman in your front yard.

Please remember to share and "like" your favorite poems far and wide, by email and social media. (And please follow Light on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LightPoetryMagazine/ and on Twitter at @LightPoetryMag.)

Happy reading!

The Light Brigade

It looks like my book survived the scrutiny of the Egel-eyed Barbara. Now you don't have to read "Just So You Know." Just read the review. You'll enjoy it.

I just read the whole issue with pleasure. Congrats to everyone involved. I particularly chuckled at Julia Griffin's "Generous to a Fault."

Good to see the twice-yearly treat up with the new names alongside the old and so many pieces worth revisiting to savour in a second read.

Sad ,though, to have lost the splendid Mae Scanlan, known to many Sphereans, but grateful for the link to Melissa's informative profile of her back in 2009.

Thanks, Ed, Julie, Susan and Jerome! (But Ed, Barbara would be sad indeed if people just read the review. As would I...)

This is a great issue, Melissa. I'm not through yet, but, among other gems, I really love Midge Goldberg's "Mormon Potatos"/"Ice Tray" duo, Ed Shacklee's hilarious, triple-rhymed Trumppleupagus, & Susan de Sola's take on the adventures of Roger Thornhill. Looking forward to the rest!
