Yes. An excellent victory and something that makes you happy to be American for the first time in a while.
Rapinoe is great. I like her more because, as a big UConn basketball fan, her partner is the also fantastic Sue Bird.

I'll readily admit that I'm not a football fan, ...but even so I find myself being delighted at this result. I heard Megan in a radio interview recently, and liked her.
Congratulations USA! Have a big grin for each goal

As you say, Jayne and Andrew. The team played well and Rapinoe rose to the occasion, like Lavelle. A teammate said the president's tweets about her would only make her stronger, and that seems to have been the case.
A shoutout to the Dutch, especially the goalie, who excelled.

John

Thoughts
Yes, the U.S. national team hoisting the Women's World Cup for the fourth time is cause for cheer!

True enough. One good thing we have going for us is the unrivaled support this country affords to women's soccer, which may have something to do with our women's team's ascendancy in the sport over the years. According to an article I chanced to read, Why is the U.S. so Good at Women’s Soccer?, ‘ this success came not from nowhere. Since almost immediately after the implementation of Title IX (which became law in 1972), U.S. women’s soccer has grown like crazy...’

What Andrew said. As Rapinoe left the field to the ovation of her countrymen and women I felt as if some weight that I had been carrying around for – I don't know, let's say two and a half years, lift. That moment was brief, but I'm hopeful of more such moments.

Since Rapinoe made Trump look so silly on Twitter, supposedly his specialty, I think she should offer him a rematch--this time on the football pitch.

I would enjoy seeing that. Trump would surely be hampered by his bone spurs.
Cheers,
