Default A Great Story

I taught Kai as a sophomore. She is one of my favorite students ever, and one of the kindest and most thoughtful people out there. No surprise, she has an indomitable will and a strong sense of justice, and she's not afraid to be vocal about it.

Forgiveness and hope in impossible circumstances is remarkable, Andrew. I really mean admirable. And your student, too ... pretty moving.

Found poetry:

I guess I was bleeding.
I felt like I was floating.
I was crying for mom.
What you done to me was wrong
but I still forgive him.

I vaguely remember this when it happened. One of the tragedies of a gun culture (He was just trying to scare a couple of girls he knew. Who knew?)

As teachers it is our privilege to also be taught as we teach.

Indeed a great story. She will join the legion of young people who have witnessed first hand the failings of our generation and fight to fix them. Bravo to all of them.

Thank you for sharing this story of courage, it is indeed encouraging. What Jim said so in tune, I cannot help but like the sound:
