Default A Question on Submissions

Does anyone know how to submit poetry to the New Criterion, or even if they are still reading it? I was unable to get any recent information on line.

Their fash fiction editor never got back to me, so I don't know what's going on there.

Adam Kirsch is the poetry editor, but I don't know if he accepts unsolicited submissions. You can click on Contact Us at the bottom of the page, which will bring you to another page with a link to the editors. An inquiry wouldn't hurt.

I haven't read the mag in a while, but the current issue's poetry section is very strong. Along with notes on Christian Wiman and a reflection on Clive James, it has an essay by the ever-readable William Logan.

Gail, I was asking exactly the same question a few weeks back. They only accept through the post. Send to the following address with a self-addressed and stamped return envelope:

Mr. Adam Kirsch

I've had a sub out for over four months.
Sadly I fear the new poetry process
will be like the old one--long waits to
have one's poems returned so crisply
folded as if they were never read.

I don't have the slightest interest in the magazines. The exposure on this site, which has some discerning readers, is enough for me.
