Default Light's Winter/Spring '14 issue is here...

... with poems and prose by too many Sphereans to count! Thank you, one and all, for your wonderful work. (And if you're among the lovely people who have been patiently waiting for a response to your latest Light submission, rest assured that we'll be chipping away at our backlog, starting tomorrow!)

Default Light Is Out - With a Multitude of Spherians

The Winter/Spring issue of Light is out, with a host, a regiment, an infinitude (well, almost) of Spherians. Members I recognized at a quick pass include Alicia Stallings, Mike Juster, Brian Allgar, Anna Evans, Jerome Betts, Melanie Brampton, Katherine Chandler, Claudia Gary, Jean Krelling, Lance Levens, Amit Majmudar, Richard Meyer, Chris O'Carroll, Alexander Pepple, Martin Parker, Ed Shacklee and Gail White - and me - and I'm sure I missed some. (Send me a PM if I missed you, and I'll slide you in.)

Many thanks all over again to Melissa and Kevin for reviving this and managing it so well, and congrats on a splendid new issue.

Not to mention the modest lad himself, M.C., with a Strunken quatrain and thoughts on, inter alia, how to win the Nemerov.

Sad to read of the passing of Joyce La Mers, to whom the issue is dedicated. She signs out with a perfect limerick.

Congratulations indeed to Melissa and Kevin for a corking production.
Mehr Licht! Mehr Licht!

My god, it is like being let in to the party of the season and standing dumbstruck among the celebrities and rising young stars. Isn't that Bruce Springsteen over there talking to Michael Cantor? And those three at a corner table, isn't that Alicia Stallings and Timothy Steele in deep conversation with Ed Schacklee. Look, that's Brian Allgar from Paris! And I thought Cathy C was wintering in South America, but there she is, no, there over there beside Alex Pepple and Jean L. Kreiling.

And look... and there... My god, this must be the poetry bash of the year!

And you know what? Old poets never die, they just keep on making everyone happy. RIP Joyce.

What a wealth of great stuff! I started reading last night, but I'll have to spread it out and savor the reading. Congratulations, all!

I'm working my way through the issue, but first and foremost I'm glad to have had my complete ignorance of Anthony Harrington remedied. The man cracks me up. Other pleasures wait, I'm sure, but Harrington alone would make it well worthwhile.

Best,

Ed

Thanks, Mike, for not only spreading the news, but taking the trouble to put us all in alphabetical order! Looks like a lot of fun awaits.

Michael, of course, didn't put himself in alphabetical order: even under the pseudonym "Me," he should've been before Richard Meyer. Easy to forgive, though, as he gave me a good chuckle watching him drown, here.

Best,

Ed

I was chuckling the minute I started looking at the issue and am eagerly looking forward to reading more of it. Congratulations!
