Default Spherians all over the new Light

Hi all,

Our Winter/Spring issue is live!

It's true that we've got a fair clump
of poems that stick it to Trump--
but no matter your side of the aisle,
we hope you'll find reasons to smile...

including:

*Featured poet Brian Allgar (plus an inspired appreciation by Chris O'Carroll)
*Work by so, so many other Spherians
*"Impossible" rhymes made possible
*The skinny on light-verse events, contests you may want to enter, and the latest achievements by Light contributors
*Barbara Egel-eyed book reviews
*A cover photo by Ana Venegas that addresses the age-old question: Does Valentine's Day mean you have to smudge your makeup?

(And to help keep the laughs coming, we hope you'll stop by our donations page. (Editing and publishing Light is an all-volunteer effort, but our costs add up.))

Happy reading--

the Light Brigade

Congratulations Brian. And to Chris O'Carroll who wrote the piece about him, And to me who wrote IMO the filthiest piece in the issue.

Continuing to read and enjoy! Bob's piece on impossible rhymes is delightful, too.

Congratulations, Brian, and all the rest of you. Just when I was looking for something to read on a gray day. . .

Best,

Ed

My only complaint is that there's too much good stuff. I've been dipping in and finding it all lots of fun. Brendan Beary's poem is wonderful, as is Mae Scanlan's, and all of us here know that Brian always delivers bigly. I haven't mentioned others because there's too much and I haven't finished reading it yet. Many thanks to Melissa for all her hard work and good taste in assembling this issue.

Thanks for the kind words and great poems, everyone!

Roger's compliment reminds me to give a shout-out here to Light's other volunteers: Managing Editor Kevin Durkin; contributing eds. Allison Joseph, Julie Kane & Gail White; board members Bruce Bennett, Dan Campion and Frank Osen; book reviewer Barbara Egel; webmaster Taylor Briggs; proofreader Liza McAlister Williams; and Lisa Markwart, Tom Gorman and Margarita Walters, who are still out there promoting the creation of their pal and brother, John Mella.

Any good taste I have is informed by all of theirs... and, of course, yours.
