Non-met takeover!
There are 146 people viewing the non-met forum as I type. Anyone else noticing this? Is it normal? Most peculiar!

I'm guessing most, if not all of them, are not people. Spam-bots, scrapers, search engine spiders and other sorts of creepy and not-so creepy crawlies abound.
Well-behaved bots will not go further than the index page of non-Met (and the other critical fora), since they've been asked not to follow links into the poetry threads.

(Before I make light of this remarkable once-in-my-lifetime phenomenon I hope someone has brought this unusual occurrence to the attention of Alex and company... I'll send a PM...)
I'd like to think it's an over-crowded class of Creative Writing 101 students at some US state university in the midwest being forced to view the Erato non-met board for credit.
Or perhaps it's a renegade group of Rupi Kaur devotees...

The bot explanation doesn't tell us why we do not have similar traffic in Metrical. Unless of course even bots can't stand the stuff.
Seriously, though, I've noted lately that when I check on "New Posts" I'm often seeing more activity on the non-metrical board than on the metrical.

It's possible that advertising agencies frequently visit Eratosphere to get or steal ideas (it's happened to me more than once). The less constrained content and structures of Non-Met may be easier to siphon off. Consider your posts in this light.

Yeah, I'll never forget what happened after I posted my "Got Milk?" sequence.

There are 160 viewing Non-Met just now, and 2 viewing Met. I still find the disparity weird, and possibly a bit unsettling.
Cheers,
John
