Default Two sphere-relevant cartoons

Years ago, Michael Cantor shared the following cartoon and said it reminded him of Eratosphere:

Merriment ensued (in this thread).

Today, I stumbled across the following cartoon. It, too, reminded me of Eratosphere:

Edited to add a few more from the same cartoonist:

Julie, these all feel so thoroughly accurate. Nice find.

I like them, but I have a couple of notes...

I love it when all the neat and tidy things stack neatly together. It's very efficient.

Cheers,
John

You hit the target on these ones, Julie, especially the one with “I love it” followed by “but let’s get rid of the usual bits”... Exactly.

And yet we ask for more.

If someone were to write a crit: "I've read this from beginning to end ten times and I have nothing to add, nothing to fix, nothing to question. I get it all. But I don't like it." That would be enough to send me away for a while.

(Please don't.) Make me think, "What was I thinking?"

But humor reigns supreme. (The buddha doesn't smile at nothing.)
In my opinion, humor is one of the most difficult things to infuse into poetry. Julie, I think you do it better (among other things poetic) than anyone I can think of at the moment.

Wow it's not just me!

Thanks Julie brightened up my morning.

Many, many years ago I read a poem by a poet whose name I do not remember and from that unreliable memory it went somewhat like this:

I wandered lonely and afraid
into the bogs on Hyde Park Station
and saw the number 5
written on the wall and thought
Good God there must be more of us than that.

Jan, that's now officially my favorite mashup ever.

It looks like it started out as Pete Brown's "Few", with a bit of William Wordsworth's "I Wandered Lonely As a Cloud" at the beginning, plus William Carlos Williams' "The Great Figure." (And maybe some other references I'm missing.) But I love the misremembered version!
