Alex, others here would get their hands slapped for the kind of response you just gave to Philip. Granted, I'm just a bystander, here....but most of your mods that I read daily would not tolerate that kind of personal response. It will be interesting to see if they do when you make it.

Running a workshop board and at the same time (and under the same name) a more-active-than-before publication/awards network, Alex, may create a host of such new snafus. Pat makes a serious point. Philip expresses his opinion. You respond with the sort snarky candor often found in public workshops but rarely in private editorial practice. Ouch. Something to think about.

Alex, even if provoked, it's generally bad form to rub unsuccessful submissions in the face of would-be contributors. Moreover, an unsuccessful submission to a journal should not mean that one permanently forfeits the right to criticize it.

And here I was, thinking I'd send in a submission to AbleMuse at some point, but if your response to Phil is any indication of your level of respect for would-be contributors, I think I'll refrain, actually.

I would wager that it's also generally considered bad form (and looked upon as "sour grapes" ) to publicly attack an editor's choice as Philip has done. And after all Alex does to keep Able Muse and Eratosphere a thriving artistic community . . .

I'm sure Alex had a tough time deciding on which poems, stories and essays to nominate for these prizes, considering the pool of talent he had to choose from.

How would you feel if someone publicly panned you and/or Anna for TRR's nominations in such terms? You'd probably want to tell them to f*** off. At least Alex is being quite restrained in his responses.
