Default Ned Balbo wins New Criterion Poetry Prize

Hey folks,

As the subject line says, Ned Balbo has won the New Criterion Poetry Prize, which comes with a $3000 check, and the publication of his new book, The Cylburn Touch-Me-Nots. Major congrats, Ned!

Huge congratulations, Ned! I take it this book is newer than even the Richard Wilbur Award-winning 3 Nights of the Perseids from last year?

Wonderful news! Ned has been prolific. I look forward to reading that book, too. The Wilbur book should be arriving soon.

It may be worth saying that Ned was also first finalist for the Vassar Miller Prize in Poetry - the list just came out. Prolific is the word!!

I'm sure it will be a fine book.

Roger Kimball loves fascists and should be deplatformed.

The Wilbur, The New Criterion, and finalist (first finalist, from the way the list is presented) for the Vassar Miller. That's as close as I've seen to a career year. Congrats! (And good luck on the Hecht.)
