They're just using Manafort to get to Hillary Clinton.

I fear Roger may be right. They pivot on everything whatever in her direction, without end.

I was just kidding. The Papadopoulos plea deal would scare the shit out of me if I were a Trump fan.

To add to Roger's comment: after the Manafort indictment, Trump went on his usual Twitter spree denouncing all of it as a witch hunt; but when news of the Papadopoulos plea deal broke, he went silent and as of this writing has tweeted nothing, some 10 hours later. I find this most telling. Something has happened.

Papadopoulos told the campaign in March 2016 the Russians had thousands of Clinton emails, and the campaign looked at how to acquire them. This was not the 400-lb-guy in his basement DT cited in his September 2016 national debate with Hilary. Not a criminal act per se, but a key element in a criminal prosecution.

Trump is scheduled to leave on Friday, I believe for what I believe was originally scheduled as a a 9 day trip to East Asia (surprisingly little has been written about it recently.) I am concerned that he will use this extended absence as an excuse to shut down the Mueller investigation, and then skip town - leaving us with a constitutional crisis and an absent President. On the positive side, maybe he'll stay in the Philippines.

Oh, I see what you meant; agreed. I meant that after the Paul Manafort indictment, Trump, the White House, and some sympathetic Republicans will take this opportunity to point the proverbial finger at you know who. As Huckabee said, in the last press-briefing, however absurdly: ‘ The real collusion... has everything to do with the Clinton campaign, Fusion GPS, and Russia.’ This being the inane mantra-slash-smokescreen of Caesar and all his minions alike. Pathetic.

My great hope at the moment is that Tweetybird is running around the Oval Office like a mouse in a maze. Also, I thought it was not in his power to shut down the investigation - am I wrong??
