Congrats Sarah! It looks amazing. I'm very much looking forward to this coming through my letterbox.

There were only 17 left when I went to buy mine, so the rest of you better get your skates on.

Now, there are 16 left.

Anxiously awaiting the hard copy!

Thank you so much, Matt and Rick.

I can't wait for you to get your hard copy either. I had a few proofs (not many) and we had to send some back but the final prints came out well, I think (but feedback is always welcome).

There's 10 left now. They're travelling to New Zealand, to the US (that's you, Rick) and to Ireland. Further than I've ever travelled. Wow.

Default Ekphrastic competition

Rare Swan have launched an ekphrastic competition with the last booklet (they bought it, weird as that sounds) as the prize.

Free to enter. I'm not shortlisting but I am co-judging.

So, if you fancy having a go, deets are here -

https://rareswanpress.com/2021/12/07...c-competition/

and the image (with the text taken out) here -

It would be amazing to read metrical poetry in the shortlist (I know that I don't write very proficient metrical poetry but I do enjoy reading it).

(I hope it's okay my posting this in an existing thread, but it seemed silly to start a new one, and the booklet sold out within 48 hours so it's not like I'm pushing my stuff too much I hope - but any objections please let me know and I can remove the post)

Hi Sarah-Jane,

I love this image! I think it might be worth posting the competition details elsewhere – General Talk, maybe –, just so more people are aware

Best wishes,
Fliss

Sarah-Jane, what a beautiful set of visual poems! Huge congrats. And of course I missed this whole thread so it’s sold out, and why wouldn’t it be? Yes, nothing like a true “object” of art as exquisite as this is. So it was a lovely idea to have an ekphrastic competition for “Owl-Light” — and a chance to get one of these. I’ll definitely try my hand!

Siham thank you so much. I'm so glad that you like the look of the booklet. I've had lovely feedback so far (there were more things in the package - a small print and some artists stamps - ephemera!)

Oh, I am crossing and crossing my fingers in hope that you enter the competition. I get given a shortlist, I don't choose it, but if you weren't on it I'd still love, love to find out what you wrote to this image.

Sarah-Jane

Unfortunately I shan't have time for this tomorrow (work). But best of luck to everyone who enters

Best wishes,
Fliss
