Translators Sharif S. Elmusa and Gregory Orfalea
reading poems by Syrian refugee poets
translated for the first time into English
and poems by prisoners from WWII Japanese interment camps

Well, well, well. I went all the way there from the opposite side of the city and in the snow only to find that someone named Rick Mullen could not, in fact, come. So I read Rick's poem for Tim instead and talked a little bit about Tim but mostly just read what Rick wrote. Tim, despite being the opposite of me in so many ways, never ceased in his support.

I really felt horrible not being able to get there, though I assumed Mary Ann Miller would have something for Tim in my absence. I'm really glad it was you reading my poem. I dare say it was better than if it were me reading it!
